Description of diesel generator 1A-9DG

Diesel four-stroke, U-shaped, 16-cylinder, with gas turbine supercharging and charge air cooler.

The 1A-9DG diesel generator consists of a 16CHN26/26 diesel engine (instead of the 10D100 diesel engine) and a synchronous generator.

The diesel generator has a number of advantages. It is easy to maintain and repair; its assembly and disassembly is carried out in units (assemblies), which ensures interchangeability. The reliability and wear resistance of diesel parts are increased thanks to the use of high-quality materials for manufacturing, rational modern methods of chemical-thermal treatment, surface hardening and high-quality coatings.

Design developments implemented on the diesel generator allowed:

• reduce maintenance and repair costs;
• improve economic indicators;
• increase turnaround time.

Routine operation of diesel locomotives of type 2TE10 with diesel generators 1A-9DG showed a reduction in operating fuel consumption and oil consumption by several times.

The payback period is no more than 5-6 years.
