Description of the TK41 turbocharger

New turbochargers TK41V-21, TK41V-22 and TK41V-25 have been developed, designed for supercharging 16ChN26/26 diesel engines with a total power of 3060 hp, 4000 hp. and 3000 hp at a crankshaft rotation speed of 850 rpm or 1000 rpm as part of locomotive diesel generators 1A-9DG version 2, 2A-9DG and 1A-9DG version 3, respectively (diesel locomotives 2TE116, TEP70, 2TE10K).

These turbochargers, in their connection dimensions to the diesel engine and its systems, are interchangeable with standard turbochargers of the 6TK type (1-6TK.00.000spch, 1-6TK.00.000spch-02 and 1-6TK.00.000spch-04), which are installed on diesel engines 16ChN26/ 26 during their construction.

Applicability of turbochargers

Modification of turbocharger Type of diesel generator Diesel power, hp Shaft rotation speed rpm. Replaceable TC Diesel locomotive type
TK41V-21 1A-9DG version 2, 1A-9DG version 2-01 3060 1 000 1-6TK.00.000spch, 6TK12.00.000spch-03 2TE116
TK41V-22 2A-9DG 4000 1 000 1-6TK.00.000spch-02 TEP70
TK41V-25 1A-9DG version 3 3000 850 1-6TK.00.000spch-04, 6TK12.00.000spch-02 2TE10K

When replacing 6TK turbochargers with TK41V-21, TK41V-22 and TK41V-25 turbocompressors, minor modifications to the inlet and outlet pipelines of lubricating oil and coolant are required in accordance with the instructions for the installation of TK41V type turbochargers.

Turbochargers TK41V-21, TK41V-22 and TK41V-25 are manufactured in accordance with the approved technical specifications TU24.06.19.006-2001.

Bench tests of the TK41V-21 turbocompressor as part of the diesel generator 1A-9DG version 2 showed that the TK41V-21 turbocompressor provides the necessary diesel acceleration in terms of crankshaft rotation speed and load load when operating according to the diesel locomotive characteristic.

Compared to the 6TK turbocompressor, the TK41V-21 turbocompressor ensured an increase in excess air pressure in the air receiver from 1.5 to 1.8 kgf/cm2, i.e. by 20%, reduction in exhaust gas temperature in the cylinders by 460С and in front of the turbine by 500С, reduction in specific fuel consumption by 5 g/kWh. or by 2.4%.

A feature of the TK41V-21, TK41V-22 and TK41V-25 turbocompressors is the cantileverless rotor design, which ensures ease of maintenance, in particular the replacement of bearings.
